JKP wrestler Benia wins Ravta Kesari title

JAMMU, June 25: Benia of Jammu and Kashmir Police lifted the annual Ravta Kesari dangal title outplaying Somveer of Lala Ram Akhara Delhi in the main bout played at Ravta in district Reasi. Dangal was organized by Ravta Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.

Winner Benia was presented a cash prize of Rs 8000 while Somveer given away Rs 7,000 by chief guest, Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
The second main bout went to Sukha of Rajasthan, who outplayed Kuldeep of Delhi to receive a cash prize of Rs 6000. In the third bout, Raju of Sirsa defeated Parvez of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi while fourth bout was won by Kallu of Bishnah beating Anoop of of Sirsa. The fifth bout was bagged by Subash of Sirsa who defeated Bobari of Jammu. Parez of Delhi (junior national silver medalist) trounced Murad Ali of Nagrota in Jammu in the sixth main bout while seventh main bout was clinched by Sandeep of Lala Ram Akhara Delhi beating Nishan Ali of Jammu.
Among others present included Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Sarpanch Bibishan Sharma, Sarpanch Mohd. Amwar Khan, Sarpanch Nistar Singh, Panch Subash Chander, Sanjay Kumar of Lala Ram Akhara Delhi and Master Ram Krishan.
Member of organizing committee and those technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of dangal were Sham Lal, Surinder Kumar, Krishan Gopal, Som Nath, Mukund Lal, Ram Krishan, Yash Paul, Santosh Kumar, Vijay kumar, Naresh Kumar, Allah Mai (Ranga), Om Parkash Sharma N.I.S Wrestling Coach, Bittu Raina, Manzoor Hussian, Mohd. Fareed, Papu Lakri.
Other Results: Gurdev Singh of Devi Garh beat Jamat Ali of Jammu; Suneet Singh of Kalakote beat Kala of Nargada; Soara Din of Mallerkotla beat Prahald Singh of Kalakote; Asif of Jammu beat Ravinder Singh of Mohare and Dillar Khan of Jammu beat Jolly of Rajasthan.
