JAMMU, June 25: Various political organisations showed their resentment over the price hike and took on to the streets. To empathize with anguish and pain for the suffering of the common man on account of the high price-rise activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) held massive protest demonstration at Kachi Chawni chowk.
It was led by the BJYM State President Munish Sharma. The protestors were pulling a vehicle with ropes to convey that in the coming days the vehicles will be pulled and not driven with diesel.
Addressing the protestors, Munish Sharma said that the UPA government has brought nothing but misery to the people of the entire country. The government by ordering steep hike in the prices of common mans kitchen fuels like cooking gas and kerosene has revealed the callous and unconcerned ethos and temperament of this Congress led government.
Continuing protest over the price hike, the JKNPP, held an emergency meeting at Panthers Party Headquarters Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and strongly condemned the Congress led UPA Government in the centre for increasing the prices of petroleum products especially the cooking gas, diesel and kerosene oil which are used by common people.
The steep rice in the price of cooking gas by Rs. 50 per cylinder is a great onslaught on the kitchens of common people of the country particulars the women folk who manage the kitchen expenses. Why doing so the Congress government has shown its real face of being anti people party.
The Panthers Party has asked the Prime Minister of India to roll back the increases made in the petroleum products yesterday.
Even the Udhampur wing of BJP, in protest against the recent price hike in Petrol, diesel & cooking gas, BJP Udhampur organized a strong protest in leadership of Raj Kumar Bucha. President of the wing. BJP State Vice-President Pawan Gupta was also present on the occasion. A large number of party activists were present who raised slogans against the UPA government and also burnt the effigy of the central govt. While addressing the activists, Pawan Gupta said that the UPA government has again hurt the budget of the common man who is working day & night to earn bread for his family. Gupta said that the recent price-hike has exposed the intentions of the present UPA government towards the common man. He demanded early roll-back of the increasing prices; otherwise BJP will launch a nation-wide agitation against the same.
The district Kathua PDP president, S. Surinder Singh has also criticized the UPA government to hike the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene and LPG.
He said this anti people move of the UPA will further adversely affect the common and poor people of the country by addition of prices of the essential commodities. While he was addressing the meeting of activists of PDP district Kathua said that due to hike in prices of petroleum products, poor and common people are suffering and bearing the extra burden and becoming difficult to sustain their daily life. He said the PDP appealed to all the people to be united to fight for the genuine and justified government in the state to curb the sufferings of the people which are created through the price rise
