Stores procurement deptt "disobeys" HC directive | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 25: In a shocking incident, stores procurement department (SPD) has "disobeyed" a high court directive wherein the government was asked to obtain the opinion of any medical expert authorized under rules within a period of three weeks for releasing the medical expenses of an ailing youth suffering from a deadly disease. In this connection, SPD director wrote a letter to GMC principal vide No DSP/956-60 dated May 1, 2011. The patient Vipul Koul was taken for check up by a GMC medical board vide their letter No MBC-309 dated June 3, but the SPD director did not bother to collect the required report which was shocking. The court had directed the government that if the medical opinion was not obtained within the aforesaid period, the government might release all expenses and medical bills on the basis of the opinion given by the head of the department of Endocrinology, All India Institute of Medical sciences, New Delhi. The concerned, however, failed to collect the report from the GMC principal.Vipul's parents have appealed the chief minister to intervene in the matter personally and do the needful. |
