Div Com inspects PHE installations | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JUNE 26- Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal today inspected main PHE pumping stations across Jammu city and inquired about the quantity of water being supplied from each station.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu Mr. Sanjeev Verma, senior PHE, PDD functionaries, besides other officials accompanied the Divisional Commissioner.
During the inspection of Company Bagh Pumping Station Phase I & II, he was apprised by Chief Engineer M & RE that the power has been restored in Boria Pumping Station, Muthi and Nanak Nagar, while the men are at work and the supply to the Company Bagh Pumping Station will also be restored within an hour.
It is pertinent to mention here that the power supply to these installations was snapped due to some technical snag power supply setup.
Div Com directed the Chief Engineer to keep standby transformers to overcome such incident in future.
Chief Engineer informed that 10 MVA transformer will be installed at Company Bagh by ERA soon.
Chief Engineer informed that the transformer feeding PHE installation damage due to overloading by illegal tapping and connections. Div Com directed Chief Engineer to immediately disconnect all such illegal connection which overloads the transformer of PHE.
Chief Engineer PHE Mr. B. R. Dogra told Divisional Commissioner that pumping Station at Sitlee, Dountali Panthitri do not face such problem as very less population around these transformer.
Mr. Kotwal also appealed to the people to avoid illegal tapping since it cause inconvenience to general public in large.
Earlier, on the direction of Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner had inspected pumping station at Janipur, Muthi, Nanak Nagar to access the problems being faced by the PHE installations due to power shortage and other reasons
