Students rally organised to mark anti- drugs day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, JUNE 26:- A mass rally of students drawn from various government and private educational institutions of the town was organised here today to mark the International day against dug abuse and illicit trafficking Carrying banners and placards on Anti Drugs like “Say No to Drugs”, “Leave Drugs Save Life”, “Avoid Smoking Save Planet” , the rally passed through the main locations of the Udhampur town and culminated at the Deputy Commissioner Office Complex Udhampur . Earlier, The Chief Education Officer and Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur, jointly flagged off the rally from Higher Secondary School (Boys), Udhampur. The rally was organized by District Administration Udhampur with the involvement of Volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Udhampur, Drug Control Organization, Udhampur, Medical and Education department. Addressing the rally, the officers of Education and Medical departments highlighted the relevance of the day and called upon the younger generation to come forward and act as an ambassador for launching anti-Drug campaign. It is pertinent to mention here that district administration has planned a comprehensive awareness programme against drug abuse and illicit trafficking at tehsil headquarters of the district in tandem with concerned BMOs, District Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Police and Assistant Controller Drugs, Udhampur with the involvement of local populace along with recently elected sarpanches and panches during the next fortnight. Among other, Chief Planning Officer, Udhampur, Mr H. H. Dutt, Assistant Director Drugs Control Organization, Udhampur, Mr. Munish Gupta, Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra, Udhampur, Volunteers of NYK, teachers were present on the occasion. |
