| JKAACL stages Dogri play ‘Chitta Singh’ | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jun 26: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with Sammoh theatre today staged a famous play ‘Chitta Singh’ a Dogri adaptation of Fritz Karnathy’s Hungarian play “The Refund”.
Adapted and directed by Ravinder Sharma, the play was staged here at K.L.Sehgal Hall of the Cultural Academy. Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) Savita Bakshi presided over. Savita Bakshi in her address said that contribution of the samooh theatre in the field of Drama and Theatre is exceptional and unique.
The play Chitta Singh’ reflected grievances of one exceptional student who after spending eighteen struggling years in search of suitable job realizes that the so-called education has not stood him in good stead returns to his school to demand refund of the school fee. The principal baffled by this unprecedented demand calls an emergency meeting of the teachers who decide to give a mock test to the student with the condition that only if he fails in the test, fee will be refunded.
Participants included Ravinder Sharma,Nipun Vaid,Suneedhi Sharma,Mandakni Sharma,Kanika Sharma,Vikram Khatri,Saki Shah Saki,Avinash Lakhnotra, Ajay Tamang,Ajay Tamang, Kanika Sharma and Nipun Vaid. Play was directed by Ravinder Sharma while Inderjeet Singh was Production Controller.
