AJHLA, JPPF assail prolonged, unscheduled power cuts | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jun 26: All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association and Jammu Province People’s Forum have flayed frequent prolonged power cuts, scheduled and unscheduled, which cause inconvenience and hardship to the people in Jammu.
They have also assailed irregular water supply through PHE pipe lines to the households and the commercial establishments, mainly hotels and lodges. These frequent power cuts for very long periods and acute shortage of potable water is also adversely affecting the business in Jammu city and other parts of the region.
In a joint press statement issued here today by the president All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association Shri Inderjeet Khajuria and JPPF Chief Thakur Pavitar Singh Jawmal and other functionaries of the two organizations, they expressed serious concern over apathy and failure of the administration to provide basic amenities ata time when the holy pilgrimage of Baba Amarnath is to commence.
The two organizations have also expressed serious concern over digging of large number of roads, lanes and streets by ERA and inadvertently long time being taken to complete the sewerage pipe laying work in the city, as a result of which there are frequent long traffic jams and even causing inconvenience to pedestrians.
The organizations have demanded the administration and the concerned departments to wake-up from slumber and work on war footing to set the things right, within two days i.e. before the onset of Amarnath yatra. Others who issued the statements included Pawan Gupta General Secy. AJHLA, Baldev treasure, ML Sharma, Prof. Davinder Sharma and Gajan Singh of JPPF.
