Cave gives way to rains, shepherd buried alive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, june 26: To protect himself from the heavy downpour that lashed the region today, a shepherd took shelter in a natural cave at Patha here. However, as ill-luck would have it, the cave roof gave way to the rains and he was buried alive under the debris. Om Prakash (45), son of Amar Nath of Patha, was grazing his cattle in the villege periphery when it started raining all of a sudden, police sources said. To protect himself from the rain water, he took shelter in a nearby natural cave. The cave roof, however, gave way to rains and the debris fell on him, the sources added. Some people, who saw this happening from a short distance, took him out of the debris and shifted him to hospital but he was declared brought dead by the doctors. After post-mortem, the body was handed over to his family for last rites. |
