| Payal, kids survive boat capsize at Kullu | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 26: Chief Minister's wife, Payal Abdullah and his two sons Zahir and Zmir survived a boat capsize at Beas stream of Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh today.
According to reports, Payal's rafting boat turned turtle in gushing waters of Beas stream. However, the members of State's second family escaped unhurt.
Reports said the rescue team escorting the VVIP's swung in to action immediately and escorted them out of the water to safety.
According to senior police superintendent of Kullu district Abhishek Dullar, the VVIP's were enjoying their rafting expedition in the afternoon when suddenly due to heavy flow of water the boat turned upside down.He said the rescue team escorting them took them to safety.
The police officer said the members of the Sheikh family were wearing life guard suits and were also provided with the escort team along with additional security. Meanwhile, worried Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took stock of the rescue operation and was relieved after learning about their safe rescue. |
