| PAC for full utilization of funds | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, JUNE 27: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Legislative Assembly on Monday asked the officers of Education Department to utilize available funds earmarked for 2011-12 under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in full.
The Committee, which met here under the Chairmanship of Mir Saifulla discussed the audit paras pertaining to education department.
The Committee took serious note of non utilization of funds released under various schemes including teachers’ training under SSA and directed the concerned to use funds judiciously.
The Committee sought official record reflecting total funds released under training grants, criteria fixed for openings and up-gradation of schools and number of teachers imparted training so far under SSA.
Legislators, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Mr. Sajad Ahmed Katchloo, Syed Bashrat Ahmed Bukhari, Peer Mansoor Hussain, Mohammad Ashraf Ganai, Mr, Jadgish Raj Sapolia, Mrs Bimla Luthra, Mr. Khalid Najeeb Suharwthy and Mr. Naresh Kumar Gupta gave their suggestions to improve the system more efficient and transparent.
Commissioner/ Secretary, School Education, Mrs. Naseem Lankar, Director School Education, Kashmir, Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed, Director School Education, Jammu, Mr. Gulzar Ahmed, Director SSA, all Chief Education Officers and other concerned officers of Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
