NSF demands students union election in Campus. | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 27: Today National Secular Forum (NSF) held a protest demonstration against JU at University Campus. The protest was against decision of University of Jammu increased fees structure of Ph.D M.phil, Undergraduates, PG, Professional courses and other courses. The protest was headed by Vikas Sharma (State President, NSF). Addressing the media person Sharma said that strong condemned the rise of 15% to 40% hike in the fees in the upcoming admission process in the university. He further said that by increasing fee University is increasing pressure and burden on students and their families. He questioned what was the need of JU that they increased the fees of PhD by Rs. 6960/- and M. phil by 5900 and why they were increased the others courses fee for that time because last year already 15%-20% fee hicks. Also saying that if the University wants to generate its own financial income then why not the authority is decreasing the purchasing of luxurious vehicles, tea party, and additional renovation of building which need not require the renovation. NSF also said that the university is adopting wrong management and investing large sum of money. Later a delegation of NSF activists met DSW and expressed various views regarding student union election, fee structure and advertisements of post for lecture in DDE of University. Sharma asked the DSW to immediately issue notification for the conduct of Students Union election as soon as possible.
