PK questions claims of normalcy in valley
6/27/2011 10:23:18 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 27: Panun Kashmir (PK) expressed dismay by the attempts by both central and state government to underplay the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.
The views were expressed by political affairs committee of Panun Kashmir in a meeting convened today and chaired by its convener, Agnishekhar, took strong exception to the motivated attempts pursued by the state and central governments to, not only underplay but to brazenly trivialize, the issue of exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Pandit community.
He had taken a strong exception to the recent statements given by the State Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister in respect of constructing a few hundred hutments in far flung villages coupled by adjustment of a few hundred Kashmiri Pandit employees in the Kashmir valley.
Agnishekhar said that these measures were not, even in the least, going to mislead the world that genocide, exodus and return of the hounded out community stood resolved in any way. Diabolical activities of such people at the behest of the desperate government, stands fully exposed in the eyes of more than seven lac displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
Agnishekhar questioned the veracity of the claims of normalcy in the valley by the state government and the central government, especially the Union Home Minister. He said that it was baffling that holding of assembly, Lok Sabha and now Panchayat elections in the state are termed as a means to address peoples’ day to day problems only, having got nothing to contribute towards developments of political significance in the state as propagated by the political parties in power, the opposition party and even the Chief Minister of the state. Their views shockingly are endorsed by the Union Home Minister who appears to be not acquainted with the historical and political background of the state, said Agnishekhar.
Dr. Agnishekhar said that there appears to be vying, if not a competition with one another, in as forcefully as possible, demanding a” solution to Kashmir problem “by these mainstream politicians. Demands of Azadi, autonomy, pre 1953 status, self rule, joint control. Musharaf formula etc; are put forth to treat Kashmir problem and in this scenario of uncertainty and haze coupled with confusion and inconsistency by the central government , Kashmiri Pandit community feels continuously deceived, neglected and betrayed.
The meeting was attended by Vijay Bhat President, Prof.M.K.Raina chairman Political affair, Shiban Khaibri Media Charman,Sanjay Raina Political affairs secretary and Sanjay Dattatreya National Cordinator Panun Kashmir.
