| AKPSC asks Congress to clear its stand on ‘Self- Rule’ | | | JAMMU NOV-24 Commenting on the recent statement of Union Minister for Water Resources Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz on ‘Self-Rule’, All Kashmiri Pandit Solidarity Conference (AKPSC) in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its President O N Trisal has described it ‘ as an un-expected assertion by one who has always stood for greater autonomy bordering the fringe of Independence. Describing his (Soz’s) remarks, who is also a Union Minister and an important functionary of the ruling Congress party, as a ‘deliberate kite flying’ ‘aimed at maintaining workable relations with the supporters of loosening the link between the State of Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country’. The AKPSC has said that ‘all patriotic Indians have a right to ask the Congress President if ‘wait and watch’ is the substance of the party’s policy vis-a- vis the self rule concept’, and added that while lower rungs of the local Congress leadership have been attacking those advocating self rule, the top brass as represented by Prof Soz has been cautious in rejecting the ideas aimed at disintegration of the State and snapping links with Union of India. ‘Is the double talk deliberate or does it reflect the metal pre-occupation of the votaries of so-called philosophy of ‘sky is the limit’, the AKPSC has asked? Referring to Mufti Sayeed, the AKPSC said why he (Mufti) has been candid enough to declare his agenda after staying in power for three long years and why he preferred to put forth the idea of self rule only after he had to relinquish office adding that all these and many more questions remain to be unanswered. ‘Where is the Mufti-Soz- Separatist nexus going to lead, the AKPSC has questioned?
