50,000 job cards issued to unemployed in Kupwara

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government has issued 50,000 job cards to the unemployed in Kupwara district under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

Funds to the tune of Rs 3.15 crore have been released for the purpose, an official spokesman said after a meeting of the rural development department at Kupwara yesterday.

The spokesman said more than 150 development works have been identified under the NREGS so far in the district.

Additional District Development Commissioner Mohammad Amin asked the concerned officers to implement the development schemes in a transparent manner.
