Lend full support to NABCONS: CS | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, JUNE 28: Chief Secretary Madhav Lal today reviewed the findings of the NABARD Consultancy Services (NABCONS), engaged by the state government as third party monitoring agency for selected development projects. The agency informed that out of 318 projects taken up for monitoring as many as 109 projects have been monitored so far in the state. The monitoring reports were furnished to the concerned departments for taking corrective action. A brief overview was also presented to the chief secretary about projects taken up for monitoring and recommendations made thereof. The Chief Secretary directed the concerned departments to share Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) with the monitoring agency in advance to facilitate their job. He also called for lending full support to NABCONS. Madhav Lal called for uploading all project related information on departmental websites to ensure transparency. He said that proper clearance from competent authorities should be sought before taking up execution of projects to avoid delays and cost overruns. The Chief Secretary stressed on bringing school buildings under the ambit of monitoring for improving quality as well as their early completion. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Planning and Development B.B. Vyas and other senior officers. |
