Bajalta Stadium: Another visit, another promise | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 28: President of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) and Union Minister, Farooq Abdullah today fixed yet another time limit for beginning the construction of the proposed international standard cricket stadium at Bain Bajalta, near here. But this time cricket lovers in the Winter Capital have to wait for Mansoons to over to finally count on next 18 months as promised by the JKCA president to complete the construction of the dream project of Jammuites. Dr Abdullah even went to the extent promising to host IPL matches at the stadium, if constructed in Jammu. In the meantime, a handout issued here today informed that the JKCA president was briefed about the threat of floods to the proposed project by the technical team of engineers, Sheikh Abdul Saalam and Farooq Ahmed Shantoo. The JKCA members were also briefed by the engineers of the Flood Control Department of the State about the topographical history of the area and steps required to secure the area under proposed stadium.
