Govt addressing KP issues on ad-hoc basis: RIK | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 28: Roots in Kashmir (RIK) today expressed concern over the ‘callous attitude’ of the state government towards various issues related to Kashmiri Pandit community. In an Executive Body meeting of RIK held here, its convener Veer Saraf said that Government is addressing all the Kashmiri Pandit issues on ad-hoc basis. There seems to be no transparency in taking the decisions vis a vis KP issues. No policy framework is in place to address the Kashmiri Pandit issues in a comprehensive manner. Serious concern was raised by the members regarding the problems faced by the inmates of Jagti Migrant Camp. Members said that the Camp inmates in Jagti faced a second displacement. Members ridiculed the government claims that all the facilities are in place in Jagti Migrant Camp. Members said that very soon mala-fide intentions and insensitiveness of Government wiII be exposed. In today's meeting the re-structuring and expansion of the organization also took place. Rakesh Bhat as General Secretary, Rohit Pandit as Official Spokesperson, Anil Kapoor as Treasurer, Sunil Raina as Secretary (Kashmir), Ajay Bhat as Co-ordinator Jagti Camp, Sunny Ambardar as Coordinator Buta Nagar Migrant Camp, Nitin Dhar, and Sunil Kaw were appointed as Joint Secretaries of the organization by Voice Vote. Veer Saraf congratulated the new team of Roots in Kashmir and expressed the hope that the new team of office bearers will be able to highlight the issues of the community more effectively. Among others who were present in the meeting were Ashok Koul, Surinder Bhan, K.L. Pandit, and Vishal Koul. |
