Punjab wrestler Jagroop excels in Sirla Kesari dangal

JAMMU, June 28: Visiting Punjab wrestler, Jagroop bagged the 51st Annual Sirla Bhaga Kesari dangal title outplaying Benia of J&K Police in the main bout that played at Government High School Sirla Bhaga in district Reasi.
Both winner, Jagroop and Benia were given away an equal cash prize of Rs 10,000 each by chief guest, Tehsildar Reasi, Kunal Sharma, who was chief guest. President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided while Naresh Kumar was guest of honour.
This day-long dangal was organised by Sirla Bhaga Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
The second main bout went to Rahul Khundu of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi beating Kamljot (Billa) of Khanna in Punjab. While winner got Rs 8,000 and runners-up, Kamljot received Rs 6,000 as cash prize. In the well contested 23-minute long third bout, Mantri (a junior national gold medalist) defeated Onkar Singh of BSF. The four main bout was won by Malkiat of Amritsar who beat Babbar of Delhi while fifth bout was clinched by Billa of Mohali Chandigarh outplaying Manoj of Khanna.
Member of organizing Committee and those technical officials who helped in the successful conduct of dangal were Advocate Pawan Dev Singh (chairman), Sarpanch Chain Singh (president), Munshi Singh, Nasib Singh, Gulair Singh, Master Ram Krishan (Retd.), Noor Alam, Vakil Singh, Numberdar Romesh Chander, Kunj Lal Teacher, Barkat Ali, Vijay Kumar, Retd. (Captain) Lehar Singh and Papu Lakri.
Other Results: Surinder of Khanna beat Veer Singh of J&K Police; Titu of Rajasthan beat Karnail Singh of Narkote; Dalip Singh of Narkote beat Gurdev Singh of Devigarh; Sandeep of Khanna beat Pritam Singh of Reasi; Sukha of Khanna beat Teg Singh of Panara (Reasi); Satyanam of Amritsar beat Prem Verma of Jhiri; Sher Singh of Chandigarh beat Ravinder Singh of Mahore; Jamat Ali of Nargada beat Shamsher Singh of Narkote and Sher Singh of Khanna beat Pawan Kumar.
