EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 28: Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) has criticised the behaviour of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) authorities and the security personnel deployed at the holy cave of Shri Amarnath for misbehaving with the devotees who have reached in advance at the sanctum sanctorum.
Addressing media persons, President VHP Dr Ramakant Dubey said that as per the agreement signed between SASB and BABA Yatri Niyas, Pratham Poojan was performed at Panjtarni on June 15 in which two members of BABA Yatri Niyas and two members of SASB had participated and the Amarnath Yatra-2011 had commenced from that day itself.
While briefing the media persons, he said it was mutually agreed that Amarnath Yatra shall commence as soon as all the yatra related arrangements will be in place. He further told that yatris were visiting the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath and were performing the pooja since June 24 and had there been any deficiency in these arrangements, the devotees of Baba Amarnath couldn’t have reached to perform pooja and have darshan of Shiv ice-lingam at the Holy Cave.
He said that if Yatris can perform pooja and have darshan of Shiv ice-lingam at the holy cave on 24th, 25th, 26th and on 27th June till 9 a.m., why they were stopped from having the blessings of Shri Amarnath after that.
He said, it is a very sad episode as we have come to know that some of the devotees were beaten up by the security personals and were also not allowed to perform pooja and have darshan of Shiv ice-lingam.
Dubey said, it is unfortunate that ladies, children and even some elderly persons were returned from the holy cave as they were not allowed to have the blessings of Bhole Baba who have reached there after such a difficult journey.
He appealed Governor NN Vohra, who is also the Chairman of SASB shall immediately take cognisance of the situation and make sure that these kinds of episodes are not repeated again.
