Chib finds fault with work at polytechnic college, suspends JE | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU,June 28: Technical and medical education minister RS Chib today found fault with the quality of ongoing construction work at government polytechnic college at Bikram Chowk here and ordered the suspension of a housing corporation junior engineer (JE). JE Joginder Singh was suspended for disobeying the previous standing instructions, official sources said. Chib paid a surprise visit to the polytechnic college and inspected pace of the construction work going on there, besides reviewing the functioning of the institution. During inspection, he scrutinized marks record of the ongoing viva voice test of the college trainees and seized it after he found that it was not maintained as per set rules and norms. He also took a round of the college complex and asked principal NH Malik to immediately start the white wash of the interiors to create better environment at the campus. Chib, however, found the ongoing construction work faulty at some places and instructed the executing agency to immediately stop the work. He also ordered immediate suspension of housing corporation JE Joginder for disobeying the previous standing instructions. The minister asked the principal to streamline the college functioning and follow norms. He said any laxity on the part of officers and officials would not be tolerated and stern action would be initiated against those who did not discharge their duties well. |
