J&K Bank, Punjab Police enter QFs of Football | | | Sports & Allied News SRINAGAR, June 29: The professional side of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and formidable side of Punjab Police today reached the quarterfinals stages of the ongoing 13th J&K Police Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police here. In the first match of the day, J&K Bank registered 2-1 win over Uttranchal Police. Leveled at 1-1, J&K Bank scored their second goal after the breather to make it a win. Hardeep Singh and Aman Bahadur scored a goal each for the winners, J&K Bank while Narinder Kutiya reduced the margin from Uttranchal Police. Now, J&K Bank shall take on local state club of Iqbal Sports on July Ist at 5 pm. Later, Punjab Police too sidelined Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) beating latter 2-0. Leading by a goal in the first half, Punjab Police further improved the lead with Vijay Kumar netting the ball for second goal. First goal was scored by Gurpreet Singh. Now, in the quarterfinals, Punjab Police shall meet hosts, J&K Police tomorrow at 3 pm at Bakshi Stadium, here. In another match played yesterday, West Bengal defeated Saffola Club by a solitary goal. In the quarterfinal, to be played tomorrow at 5 pm, West Bengal has been pitted against J&K Forest. In today’s last league round matches, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order and Armed, K Rajendera Kumar and Additional Director General of Police, Ram Lubhaya were special guests. Both these special invitees were accompanied by senior police officers and members of the J&K Football Association.
FIXTUTRE (Quarterfinals): J&K Police shall take on Punjab Police at 3 pm, followed by the second match between J&K Forest shall face West Bengal at 5 pm tomorrow at Bakshi Stadium.
