JSSF demands introduction of statistics in all colleges and schools | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 29: The directorate of Economics and Statistics, Jammu and Kashmir celebrated national statistics day on June 29. On this occasion, Jammu statistical students forum want to bring to the notice of the people of Jammu in general, CM in particular that statistics is taught only in three colleges and few government schools in Jammu division. However it is available in 10 colleges in Kashmir division. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sanjay Sharma, President of the forum, appealed to CM that statistics should be introduced at school and college level. So that the scope of the subject increases in our state also. “We have been fighting for the introduction of statistics at school and college level for the last fifteen years but nothing concrete has come up yet. It would not be out of place to mention here that due to low development of private sector in our state there is no scope of statistical software which is otherwise in great demand outside the state”, he says. “We hope that the CM will bring our appeal in notice and take benevolent steps in this direction,” he adds. Among those who attended the meeting were Dr Sandeep Charak, Dr R P Singh, Roohi Gupta, Priyanka Anand, Pawan Sharma, Tarunee Sharma, Manu Smriti, Akanksha and others.
