| RIK to frustrate game plan of fringe KP organizations, Says no return | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 29: To take on the fringe organizations and self styled leaders in the community who are hobnobbing with the Government to set the return formula in motion, the newly organized Roots in Kashmir (RIK) today resolved to work for the unity of purpose in various KP organizations active in Jammu and other parts of the country.
The RIK in a meeting here today resolved to work sincerely for the genuine cause of displaced Hindus and their usurped rights. They also decided to hold parleys with the likeminded KP organizations in Jammu and outside to forge a joint platform to thwart the game plan of all such fringe organizations who are playing with the cause of community for their self interests.
RIK convener Vir Saraf has constituted a team of his organization to hold parleys with those Pandit organizations who have been working for the community cause during last 20 years genuinely to channelize their energies in right direction so that a protracted struggle can be launched for the community cause.
Saraf a votary of separate homeland in Kashmir who has also been a front ranking activist of Panun Kashmir in past said that need of hour is that all the like mined and genuine KP organizations should join hands to thwart the game plan of all the fringe organizations who are hell bent to demolish the community and its 21 year long struggle in exile.
The community is being misled by a small chunk of people on the name of employment and despite the Prime Minister’s announcement regarding 6000 jobs for the displaced Pandits in 2007, only 1700 posts were filed he said, adding this way the Government was misleading the community and luring them for some jobs the community can’t compromise with its honour and dignity.
He said the fringe KP organizations who are hobnobbing with government on return formula before holding any parleys with government representatives should seek the mandate from the community while as majority of KPs don’t approve any return formula which does not address the basic issue of genocide.
The RIK will not look as a silent spectator to present developments in the state and thrusting of some self styled people as the leaders of the community, said Rakesh Bhat its general secretary who tooth and nail opposed the return formula that does not address the basic issue of genocide.
``It is a serious issue and the community does not like to be uprooted again from the Valley after its return. For this purpose the central and state governments should hold a meaningful dialogue with community instead of taking the fringe elements into consideration;;, he added.
``The RIK is for settlement of the community in a major single township in Kashmir Valley with all constitutional and institutional guarantees and our activists will travel length and breadth in the country to interact with KPs to mobilize opinion on this demand.’’
The RIK will meet the leaders of the all KP organizations who have been genuinely in struggle for last 21 years of turmoil and ask them to come on a single platform to neutralize the fringe organizations said Rohit Bhat Spokesperson RIK.
He also cautioned the community and Government against the fringe organizations playing with the community cause for their vested interests.
