| Sikh Intellectuals oppose decision to lease land to outsiders | | | JAMMU NOV-24 Strongly criticizing the Government’s move to lease out the land of tourist resorts in Jammu and Kashmir to non- state subjects, Sikh Intellectuals Circle in the State has blamed the mainstream political parties for selling Kashmir to non-State subject multi-national companies. In a meeting held under the chairmanship of Narinder Singh Khasla, the Intellectuals circle reviewed the situation arising out the latest Government decision to lease out tourist resort land to non state subjects, the Circle extended its full support to the Kashmir Traders and entire separatist leadership in this regard and maintained that there was no need to involve outsiders and non- state subjects for development of infrastructure at tourist resorts in Jammu and Kashmir adding that the local traders are capable to invest and create world class accommodation in the state. The handout further said that in view of the disputed issue of Jammu and Kashmir nobody is authorized to change the geographic and demographic dimensions of the state and observed that such steps would cast adversely on peace process.
