Sunderbani Club enters QFs of Pawan Cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT AKHNOOR, June 29: Beating Sunderbani Club by a margin of 23 runs, Singh XI Jammu today reached the quarterfinals of the Pawan Memorial (Twenty20) Cricket Tournament underway at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Singh XI Jammu set a target of 172 runs for the loss of seven wickets, which, in reply, Sunderbani could not chase and exhausted their quota of overs for 148 runs losing six wickets. Sandep Saini added quick 36 (off 16 balls, 3x6, 3x4) runs while Paras Sharma (41 off 31 balls) and Aditya (39 off 21 balls) were other main contributors to the total. From Sunderbani Club, Shankar clinched three wickets while Arif claim two and Tarun one. Later, chasing the target, Sunderbani Club could not maintain the required run rate and could make 148 runs for six in given 20 overs. Vicky was top scorer with 27-ball 51 runs studded with six sixes and one four. Vinod and Arif contributed 45 and 26 runs respectively. Aditya was most successful bowler from Singh XI, who took three wickets while Shubam Khajuria took two and Paras bagged one. For his all-round performance, Aditya was adjudged man of the match. Today’s match was officiated by Vikas ans Sumit while Lucky was scorer.
