Job aspirants to approach Chancellor | Irregularities in JU | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 29: Throwing norms to winds, people close to the Vice Chancellor Jammu University have taken the institution for a ride.
Recently, when the Jammu university authorities invited applications for the posts of Registrar and Director, College development council many aspirants for the coveted posts submitted their resume to try their luck
Highly placed sources in the university stated that the University authorities have decided to hold interviews only for the post of Director College development council and not for the post of Registrar.
The authorities, sources said have allowed even non-state subject candidates to appear for the post of Director, college development council, in violation of the resolution adopted by the University. As per the resolution non state subject candidates are entitled to compete for the post of Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Chief Librarian and faculty posts only.
This is apparently done to accommodate the incumbent Registrar Prof PS Pathania, due to complete his term on July 3, 2011. It appears that the University authorities, without taking the consent of the chancellor have decided to retain Prof Pathania in the post till his due date of retirement, which is November 2011.
Ironically, the same university authorities have decided to hold interviews to shortlist the name of the Director college Development council, to replace incumbent Director Prof Rajeev Gupta, due to retire in October 2011.
The aspirants for the posts of registrar intend to meet the Chancellor, NN Vohra to set things right.
