Two new members assume human rights office in J&K

Srinagar, Jun 30 : Two senior advocates from Jammu and Srinagar have assumed the office as members of the Jammu and Kashmir Human Rights Commission.

Mr Rafiq Fida from Srinagar and Amolak Singh from Jammu assumed their duties yesterday, the Commission Secretary said in a statement here.

He said, earlier, Governor N N Vohra has approved their appointment.

The secretary added that with the appointment and assumption of duties of the members the bench strength of the Commission is augmented in the interest and to the advantage of public at large and better serve the cause of human rights.

The commission expects the Jammu Sub-Office by now to be fully functional round the year.
