| Newly married woman among 2 killed in road mishaps | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, JUNE 30 : A 19-year-old newly married woman and an unidentified man were killed in separate road accidents here since last night.
The motorcycle of SPO Darshan Lal of Barian, Samba, today got trapped in a broken patch of Mansar road at Mananu as a result of which it fell in the middle of the road.
Darshan's wife Ranjana (19), who was sitting on the pillion seat along along two children of his elder brother, sustained a critical head injury.
She was shifted to Samba district hospital from where she was referred to the GMC hospital but she died on the way.
Darshan and the two children, who survived with minor injuries, were later discharged from the Samba hospital. The couple was married only a month ago, police sources said.
Meanwhile, an unidentified pedestrian was killed after a car hit him on railway road near Trikuta Nagar here late Wednesday night.
Sources said a youth was late last night walking by the roadside on railway road when a speeding car hit him as a result of which he sustained critical injuries.
He was shifted to the GMC hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The body was kept in the hospital mortuary for identification.
Though police had registered a case in this connection, the car and its owner were yet to be traced out. |
