| Inter Block sports competition concludes | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, JULY 01- The two-day long Inter-Block Sports Competition under the centrally sponsored scheme "Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan" (PYKKA) for boys and girls under the age group of 16 years concluded here at Sports Stadium, Udhampur on Friday.
In all, 200 young sports persons including boys and girls drawn from 07 blocks of Udhampur participated in the programme. The competitions were organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Udhampur.
MLA, Udhampur, Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed prizes to the winner and runner up teams and individual medals to the outstanding young sports persons of different events.
Lauding the efforts of Youth Services and Sports Department Udhampur, Mr. Mankotia said that such competitions provide an opportunity to the young sports persons to exhibit their sports talent on a common platform. The youth drawn from different blocks of the district who have excelled in different sports events would also put in their best in different competitions to be organized at state and national level in near future.
The district Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mr. S.R Kotwal, Zonal Physical Education Officers, Sarpanches, Panches, teachers and sports lovers were present on the occasion.
