ETT association condemns exclusion of students from scholarships | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 1: Jammu Private Schools and ETT Institutes Association (Progressive) has condemned the exclusion of the private school students from the scholarship scheme started by the state government. Addressing the press conference president JPS and ETT Institutes Deep Singh said that it will deprive thousands of students from getting scholarships which is against the norms. He said that as per BOSE notification No. F (Acad-C) NMMS/2011, Dated: 27-06-2011 under “National Means Cum Merit Scholarship”, the exclusion is totally discriminatory. “Parents choose private educational institutions because of the poor infrastructure in the government run educational institutions, and many of the poor students are studying in private institutes”, Singh said. Singh said that private students have greater population than the government ones and they have right to be included for all the welfare schemes launched by the state. “We use the education officials not to deprive the needy and deserving children on mere pretext that they study in private institutes. It is against the rules”, he said.
