Surinder guides Singh Club to big win in Pawan Cricket

AKHNOOR, July 01: Hosts Singh Cricket Club today registered a big 138 runs win over DAV Attackers, courtesy all round performance from Surinder Singh, in the ongoing Pawan Memorial (Twenty20) Cricket Tournament at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here.
Surinder, who earlier guided his side to a big total making 29-ball 70 runs, later clinched three wickets.
Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Singh Club set a challenging target of 189 runs for the loss of five wickets. Surinder Singh was top scorer with 70 runs studded with six sixes and four boundaries while Pankaj Sharma contributed 28-ball 40 runs including five fours and a six. Dilawar Singh added 14-ball 32 runs to the team’s total. From DAV Attackers, Anil clinched three wickets while Atul bagged two.
Later, DAV Attackers could not face the opponent bowlers and bundled out for a small total of 50 runs in 11 overs. No batsman could touch the double figure mark. From Singh Club, Surinder Singh and Dilawar Singh bagged three wickets each, followed by Sham Singh Langeh, who took two and Pankaj claimed one.
For his all round performance, Surinder Singh was declared man of the match by the organizers.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Royal Bijayanta made it an emphatic 44 runs win over Challenger Club Jammu.
Batting first, Royal Bijayanta made 182 runs for the loss of seven wickets, which, in reply, Challenger could not chase and the whole side bowled out for 138 runs in 19.4 overs.
Vimarsh Kaw was highest scorer with 49-ball 78 runs from Royal While Ram Dayala and Naresh contributed 24 and 32 runs respectively. Later, Ashul and Ram Dayal claimed three wickets each to bring opponent under pressure.
For his superb innings of 78 runs, Vimarsh Kaw was declared man of the match. Today’s match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Ashok Sharma while Sushil Gupta was scorer.
