BJP to start membership drive | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 2: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is all set to launch its strong membership drive in the state to look for dedicated workers to carry forward its agenda. Addressing a press conference, party president Shamsher Singh Manhas said that they have activated all the district presidents to ensure that the two month long drives is completed successfully. Singh said that a detailed programme has been charted out at the meeting including holding of district working committee meetings and organizing Prashikshan Shivars at district and block levels to educate masses about the ideology and objectives of the party. He also informed the core group members about the party decision to hold contact programmes with the candidates who contested recently held non-party basis panchayat elections including the newly elected panchs and sarpanchs. He said that National Conference-Congress coalition government is trying to unconstitutionally influence the newly elected panchs and sarpanchs to join the ruling party. He also discussed about the “Aajivan Sehyog Nidhi” programme .
