New railway station should be constructed in Kathua | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, July 2: Nav Kathua Railway Nirman Samiti urged the union government to construct the alternative new railway station in the city Kathua. The members of the Samiti send a memorandum to the Railway of India to keep the further activities after the pre-feasibility survey behind the Ramleela ground at Bolian for the construction of new railway station for which Samiti has been struggling since 2004. The Samiti spokes person, Bunty, Sanjeev Verma, Manpreet Singh, Vikas Singh, Amrish Sharma, and others said that the project prepared for the construction of new railway station at Kathua was submitted by the Samiti to railway ministry in 2006 and then accepted and also conducted a pre feasibility survey but unfortunately the railway minister get changed and the matter was left in mid-way. They said that Hiranagar is just a tehsil but it has four stations namely Channi, Dayala Chack, Hiranagar, and Gagwal while all are at very little distances within two to five kilometer and other side Kathua is district , why cannot it has two railway stations. They said that the construction of the new railway station in the heart of Kathua will bring the revolution on all fronts like development, employment and even it will bring the equal and effective developments among the ignored area of the Kathua.
