JMC seals another building at Gandhinagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 2: Under the instructions from S.C Sawhney Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jammu, the Enforcement Staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer while continuing the drive against the violation of land use sealed the Hall on 1st floor of Ved Kumar at Gandhi Nagar, Behind Apsra Road, Jammu under the provisions of J&K Control of Building Operation Act. The team also demolished the wall of shed where the poultry farm was being run in the residential area at Sec No: 9 Nanak Nagar, Jammu. The said drive has been conducted with the assistance and co-operation of police force from Gandhi Nagar Police Station and from District Police Lines, Jammu. Further, the Jammu Municipal Corporation has appealed to the general public to refrain from making illegal constructions and get building plans whether commercial / residential approved from Jammu Municipal Corporation otherwise action as admissible under rule leading to demolition / sealing of the building will be taken. Besides this, the Health Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith team of Food Inspectors continued drive to check the quality of food items especially in view of ongoing Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra and inspected about 250 food establishments like Milk & Milk Products shops / vendors, Cooked Food Dabas, Resturants, Fruit Juice Shops, Tea Stalls, Sweet Shops, Bakery Shops, Cut Fruits Reharies, Ice Cream Shops, Sugarcane Juice Reharies etc. in the areas of Bhagwati Nagar, Puran Nagar, Yatri Niwas, BC Road, Bus Stand, Jewel Area, Shiv Market Railway Area etc. During the inspection 34 no’s of defaulters were booked under the provisions of Prevention of Food Adulteration Act 1954 and J&K Municipal Corporation Act, 2000. An amount of Rs. 8650.00 (Rupees eight thousand six hundred and fifty) was charged as fine from the defaulters and about 100 Kgs of sweets, stale cooked food, Ice Cream which were not fit for human consumption were destroyed on spot. The team also seized polythene carry bags from various food establishments / other out lets who were using the ploythene carry bags in these areas.
