Groove Arts “Aur Din Dhal Gaya’ impresses | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 2: Groove Arts staged a Hindi play “Aur Din Dhal Gaya” written and directed by Shashi Bhushan at Performing Art studio, Kachi Chowni, Jammu. The play was performed in the series of “Saat Din Hamare” festival organized by Aaditya Bhanu for Nav Durga Kala Manch. Todays play revolved around an old man who passes his day time by doing various exercises to empower his loneliness. Meanwhile a thief enters his house to rob him but when he finds nothing, the old man offers him to play chess and in turn the money also on loosing or winning the game every time. During the game, both interact with each other and hence they disclose and discuss their family problems. There, the old man, after knowing that the thief’s father suffering from cancer, gives him a cheque of Rs. 20 lakhs for bone marrow exchange of his father. In the climax, the old man writes a suicide note and then rings to a newspaper office and requests them to publish his suicide note so that people can be aware of mental trauma a person goes through when his children are settled abroad. The old man similarly hangs himself as it helps to get rid of his prolonged wait. Vikram Sharma, the eminent theatre personality of the state being chief guest on the occasion praised the efforts envisaged by the organizers in producing scintillating and realistic theater product. He wished the artists and organizers great success in the future endeavors. Rajeev Rana, the senior stage artist of the state was guest of honour. The artists who performed in the play included Shashi Bhushan as Vridh and Dilshad Shazi as Chor, Make-up by Reetu Manhas , sets by Dilshad and lights executed byAnil Kotwal .
