NSS volunteers organises awareness rally, cleanness drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, JUL 3: National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of University of Jammu (JU), who have participated in six day ‘National Heritage Trek Programme 2011’, visited Government Middle School Sanasar wherein they created awareness among the students and staff of the school about the role of NSS in nation building.
NSS Programme Officer, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, who is leading the contingent of 16 NSS volunteers, delivered lecture on “Use of modern techniques in teaching-learning process”.
The NSS volunteers also carried out cleanness drive at Sanasar meadow wherein they appealed to the tourists and the local people to avoid using polythene bags. The volunteers raised slogans against the use of polythene bags and stressed upon using dustbins.
An awareness rally was also organized at Sanasar bus stand. Later the volunteers visited Jawahar institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports. The instructors of the institute guided the volunteers about the courses being offered by them. |
