Passing out parade at Doomi

Jammu, Nov 26
Minister for Forests, Environment and housing and Urban development Qazi Mohammad Afzal was presented Guard of Honor by contingent of 32nd batch of 15 forests guards and 6th batch of 16 class-IV trainees on the eve of passing out parade celebrations at Forest Guard Training School, Doomi Akhnoor today.
The trainees have successfully completed their trainings. Among forest guards Mr. Sat Paul stood first while 2nd position was bagged by Mr. Sajad Ahmed and 3rd position was shared by Mr. Deep Kumar and Mr. Mohammad Rashid. In class-IV trainees Mr. Shanker Dass secured first position while 2nd and 3rd position were secured by Mr. Barat Singh and Mr. Girdari Lal respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that it was an established fact and shall hold good for all times to come that food production is always subservient to forests. He said that in other terms life shall sustain on this universe only if available forest areas are preserved and more and more degraded forests land brought under new aforestration programmes. Qazi afzal stressed that there is immense need to bring to a halt all possible means of deforestation by way of enforcing all acts concerning to forest protection so that ecological balance is maintained at all cost.
The Minister said that this responsibility is saddled upon all of us particularly field agencies concerned to forest protection. He hope that trainees will show extra ordinary dedication and devotion to their duties and shall deliver things for which trained far.
Principal, Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. Irshad Ahmed Khan also addressed on the occasion and stressed for the need of joint forest management with people’s participation in the development and protection of the forests.
Earlier, Conservator of Forests, Working Plan and Research Circle presented a well come address and Principal of the Institute Mr. S. L. Koul (Babu) presented the detailed report of the school and which was followed by vote of thanks.
Later, the Minister distributed certificates and mementos among the successful trainees and officers concerning to imparting trainings and Mr. Jagdesh Kumar Bhat, Range officer for best examiner.
Among others, Chairman Pollution Control Board Mr. R. D. Tiwari, Director Forest Protection Force Mr. Vinod Ranjan, Director Social Conservation Mr. Lal Chand, Director, State Forest Institute Mr. Shafat Ahmed, Director, Environment and Remote Sensing Mr. Shamim Mohammad Khan, Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu Mr. Abay Kumar, Chief Conservator of Forests (projects) Mr. Ravi Kesar and Joint Director, Forest Protection Force, Jammu were also present on the occasion.
