| Army conducts medical camp at Behota | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Doda, July 4:: As a part of Civic Action Programme under Operation Sadhbhavana ,10 Rashtriya Rifles (10 RR) conducted a medical camp at Behota (Marmat) of Doda District.
The aim of holding this medical camp was to provide medical facilities to remote villages in the region.
The unit provided much needed specialized medical cover especially to children and elderly people residing in the far flung area.
The medical team comprised of RMO and Nursing Assistants of 10 RR (RAJPUT).
Meanwhile a lecture on importance of hygiene and sanitation was also delivered during the medical camp in which a large number of patients turned up for medical checkup from the nearby village including Rout, Chiloth, Sarwal, Kund, Banjar, Kanthi, Khatriyar and Gadhori areas.
A large number of Bakkarwals and Gujjars who get their cattle for grazing and stay in small hamlets also came for treatment and free medicines were distributed to the needy patients.
The villages Sarpanch and village Pradhan were really grateful to the Army for the efforts put in for providing medical aid to them at their door step, in the difficult terrain of the district.
The noble efforts of Army was highly appreciated by the local populace in Behota village as well as by the District Administration. However, the locals of the area appealed to the Army to hold such medical camp in every part of the Marmat so that the poor people get better health care facilities. |
