| 11 traders booked under J&K ‘Weights and Measures’ Act | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, July 4: In a continuous drive to protect the pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra-2011 against unfair trade practices, a team of officers of Legal Metrology conducted an intensive checking along the National Highway at Udhampur under the supervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Anita Sharma.
The team ensured that the traders were using only verified weights and measure selling packages having mandatory declaration and proper price list was displayed at the trading premises for the information of the consumers.
During inspection, the team booked 11 traders for violation of different provision of J&K Weights and Measures Act. A fine of Rs 6000/- was imposed on the defaulters on spot.
