Annual Buddha Amarnath Yatra arrangements reviewed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JULY 04- District Development Commissioner Poonch Mr. Ajeet Kumar Sahu convened a joint meeting of District Officers and representatives of Management committee of Shree Dashanami Akhara Mandir Poonch, Buddha Amarnath Mandir of Mandi Tehsil and other citizens to discuss and review Annual Buddha Amarnath Yatra arrangements here today. Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Matloob Khan, Principal GDC Mr. G. L. Sharma, District officers, President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Poonch Mr. Manjeet Kumar Sharma, President Shri Darshanami Akhara Management Committee Mr. Basant Ram, Budha Amarnath Mandir Mandi M/Committee Mr. Vishwa Nath Khajuria, representatives of Vishu Hindu Prished and Bajrang Dal were among other participants. Threadbare discussion were held to provide sufficient and comfortable accommodation to yatries whose rush is expected to increase from July 15 instant onwards. The meeting discussed in detail the arrangements for security, proper sanitation, un-interrupted power and water supply, street lights renovations, parking of vehicles, provision of 1st AID for Health Care equipped with Ambulance, erection of kitchen sheds, bathrooms and temporary latrines and maintenance of sanitation. Availability of ration , cooking gas, provision of tents, tarpolins, regulation of traffic at the departure of CHHARI MUBARIK leading towards B/Amarnath from Poonch and telephone facilities etc for yatries at different stages were also discussed. Meeting decided that SSP Poonch would setup special control rooms at Dashanami Akhara Mandir Poonch, Chandak, B/Amarnath at Mandi and Bimbergali (BG) to regulate yatra smoothly by providing foolproof security arrangements. Chief Agriculture Officer was nominated as Yatra Officers who would be assisted by other officers to maintain liaison with District Administration and influx of yatries. Meeting constituted two committees of officers and local citizens one at Poonch headed by District Sheep Husbandry Officer and other a Sub Committee headed by Tehsildar Mandi who would monitor yatra arrangements in their respective areas. It was further decided that DDC would reviews yatra arrangements at Budha Amarnath Mandir Mandi on July 7, 2011.
