CEO asks Travel Trade to take immediate action against over charging for heli-tickets or face quota suspension | Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2011 | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, JULY 4 – Taking immediate cognizance of complaints appearing in a section of media today alleging certain instances of over charging for helicopter tickets by the Travel Trade from the Yatris undertaking the Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji, the Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Mr. R. K. Goyal, convened a meeting of the Presidents of the Travel Agents Association of Kashmir, Travel Agents Society of Kashmir, House Boat Owners Association and Pahalgam Hotel Association here this evening. All the Associations assured the CEO that they would identify specific cases of over charging, and if found correct, would take punitive action against its member (s). Under directions of the Chairman of the Shrine Board, Mr. N. N. Vohra, the CEO informed the Associations that in case immediate action is not taken on the reported complaints, the Shrine Board shall suspend the quota of helicopter seats allotted to the concerned Association for the entire Yatra period. The CEO called upon the Yatris to immediately report to the Shrine Board Control Room (Phone: 0194-2501679; e-mail: ceoshriamarnathjishrine.com) or call him up (at Phone: 0194-2500909) if any agent asked for an amount higher than the authorized fare by Helicopter travel, intimating the details of the concerned agency.
