JPPF to start hunger strike over delay in functioning of CU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 4: Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF) decided to launch a relay hunger strike from second week of July to intensify their agitation for making Central University (CU) functional and for appointing a local VC for it. Addressing the press conference, JPPF member Inderjeet Khajuria said that the forum has decided to extend full support to any other forum for the cause. He said that the exact date of the fast has not been decided yet and will soon be finalized in the forum meeting. Khajuria appealed all the political parties, social, cultural organizations, trade bodies, student and scholar groups as well as individuals feeling concern over raw deal being meted out to Jammu region, to form a common platform to carry on the struggle. JPPF warned the authorities for playing with sentiments of the local people and said that they will not stop until they will get the required results. Many others present in the meeting included Prof Davinder Sharma, Davinder Chowdhary, President Jammu Tourist Taxi Operators, Madhu Sharma, President Bus Stand Shopkeepers Assiociations, Prof. Hari Om, Puspinder Singh, ML Sharma, RP Sharma, Kuldeep Luthra, S Gajan Singh, Gajan Singh Khajuria, Rajesh Chandan.
