PAC seeks concrete reply about audit objection | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, JULY 4: Taking serious note on reply submitted by the Geology and Mining department about audit para regarding purchase of DTH ring, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Legislative Assembly on Monday asked the concerned to submit concrete reply to convince the Committee so that Audit Para could be dropped. The Committee, which met here under the Chairmanship of Mir Saifullah discussed audit paras pertaining to Geology and Mining department. The Committee directed the concerned to seek official record about central funding, total allocation, expenditure, activities, achievements and survey reports of Geology Mining, Handicrafts, Handloom, SIDCO, SICOP, JK Minerals, Arts & Emporium, Silk Factory and JK Cements for last two years for its examination. The Chairman directed them to utilize funds judiciously to avoid Audit objections in future. Legislators, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo, Mohammad Ashraf Gania, Syed Basharat Ahmed Bhukhari and Khalid Najeeb Sohrawardy gave their suggestions for further improvement in the system. Among others, Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce Umang Narola , Director Geology and Mining Ishtiyaq Ahmed Ashai, Senior Drilling Engineer Kashmir Mehraj-ud-Din and other concerned officers of Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
