BJP alleges total administration collapse over Amarnath Yatra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 4:Lambasting the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and the NC-Congress coalition government for their total failure to handle the Amarnath Yatra even after having started it on its chosen date of 29 June, the BJP has alleged total collapse of administrative machinery and accused State Chief Minister of a non-serious approach sharing on twitter his excitement about the Kashmir Premier League Tournament instead of sharing concern about chaos resulting from mismanagement of the yatra. BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, while addressing a press conference along with state chief spokesperson & national executive member Dr. Jitendra Singh at party hqrs on Monday, came out with very hard hitting observations about the NC-Congress coalition government and said it appeared as if there was no government at all because everything had come to a standstill. Not only pilgrims but thousands of other people, including women and children, were also stranded at different places,he alleged. Neither the State Governor nor the State Chief Minister bothered to call an emergency meeting of various relief and rescue agencies under their control. He said the Chief Minsiter and administration owe an explanation to the people as to why they could not anticipate the difficulties arising during the course of Yatra even after they had insisted on curtailing the duration of Yatra by 15 days and starting it from June 29. Manhas also alleged that bureacrats and senior police officers were spending most of their time to keep the NC and Congress ministers in good humour. Citing the example of Jammu, he added that Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, instead of attending to chaos related to Amarnath Yatra mismanagement, spent all his time in conducting tours for the Revenue and Relief Minister. Manhas regretted that repeated attempts by BJP leadership to contact with IGP Jammu and Divisional Commissioner had failed as these officers had made it a habit not to answer phone calls. Manhas also informed that he had convened an urgent meeting of BJP party workers where it was decided that the party cadre would do whatever possible in its capacity to help the pilgrims and passengers from outside the state so that their agony and inconvenience can be eased to some extent.
