BJYM protest against irregular supply of water | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 4: Hundreds of activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) led by district president Munish Khajuria held massive protest demonstration in front of the office of Chief Engineer, PHE at B.C.Road against irregular supply of water. They were raising slogans against the department and also earthened pots. Munish Khajuria, on this occasion, said that a number of areas of Jamu city like Rajpura, Shakti Nagar, Shiv Nagar, Bakshi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar and Narwal Bala are facing acute shortage of drinking water because there is no regular supply. In many areas people get water after 2-3 days while the PHE Deptt. claims of giving regular supply. He said that in these days there is need of clean drinking water but the people have to approach the department for the same as the minimum required quantity of water for a family is also not available. He said that the BJYM activists will further intensify its agitation if the situation do not improve and people are not provided any respite. Later, Munish Khajuria alongwith other office bearers of Distt unit called on Transmission Technical Officer of PHE in his office chamber, took up this matter with him and briefed about the problems of the people facing due to shortage of drinking water. Khajuria stressed for regular supply of drinking water. Vijay Choudhary, Ravi Mehra, Jyoti Dogra, Tarun Sharma, Ajay Magotra, Naveen Dogra, Rajeshwar Singh, Deepak, Raj Kumar, Sham Lal, Manumanav Mahajan, Sunil Sharma, Parshotam, Janu Goswami, Sumit Singh, Rakesh Verma, Rajesh Sharma, Sunny Thakur, Nitish Sharma and Sushil Sharma were prominent among those who took part in this protest demonstration.
