Slathia reviews Shri Amarnath ji Yatra arrangements

JAMMU, JULY 4: Minister for Industries and Commerce Mr. Surjeet Singh Slathia today chaired a high level meeting convened to review the arrangements made by administration for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath ji Yatra, and comfortable stay of the pilgrims enroute from Lakhanpur in case of inclement weather conditions.
Divisional commissioner, Dr Pawan kotwal, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Mr. Dilbagh Singh, DIG Jammu, Mr Farooq Khan, Director Tourism, Secretary summer secretariat were prominent among those present in the meeting.
The Minister, who is here to attend the Summer Secretariat Jammu for a week, also reviewed the power, water supply and other essential services position, besides pace of progress on various ongoing projects.
The Minister will be available at the summer secretariat for the whole week to listen to the grievances of public of the region and also monitor the various development works.
Mr. Slathia also inquired about the arrangements made for the stay of pilgrims in Jammu and along the National highway from Lakhanpur to Jammu and onward from Jammu to Srinagar in case of suspension of pilgrimage. He said that the administrations of all the districts from where the yatra passes shall be asked to make elaborate arrangements to deal with such situations.
The Minister asserted that conduct of smooth and peaceful yatra was the priority of Government and stressed upon the concerned department functionaries to work in synergy. He exhorted upon the administration to work sincerely to facilitate the people coming from other states of India during Yatra.
Later, on the direction of the Minister, a team of senior divisional administration functionaries visited the Yatri Niwas Jammu and other lodging sites across Jammu city where the pilgrims, have been accommodated by the administration. The team of officers interacted with the pilgrims who expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the administration for the stay of yatries stranded due to stoppage of the yatra in wake of inclement weather condition.
