Rainy season augmented problems of Kathua residents
7/4/2011 10:51:57 PM
Early Times Report
KATHU, July 4: The rainy season has put the lives of Kathua people in worse condition due to the ineffective and poor construction of the several streets and especially the suspending construction of main bridge which is known as the life line of which plays great role to unite the two parts namely Arliwand and Paraliwand.
The responsible agency named ERA had taken the construction of this main bridge three years ago but the construction work of the bridge has not been completed and the alternative kacha path has also been swept away by the rainy water.
The people are using the bridge to walk which is more dangerous because of its incomplete construction.
The people are demanding the explanation from ERA in this context of delaying the construction of the bridge. The people said that the district administration and the politicians both are the responsible for all this.
The senior congress leader Manohar Singh regretted over the style and functioning of ERA and the district administrations.
He said that the contractor who is carrying out the execution construction works of Kalibari to Kathua roads and the construction work of main bridges is totally ineligible and he has no proper infrastructure and machinery to carry out the such a high level developmental works so the question is this why the ERA has sublet this work to this contractor.
He alleged that it seems that there is some nexus between the district administration, ERA and the local contractor.
