Backward areas to get focused attention: Omar

SRINAGAR, July 5:
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Tuesday assured the people of J&K that the development decisions of his government would be based on justice and equity.

He said while equitable development of all areas, regions and sub-regions forms the guiding principle of the development strategy of his government the underdeveloped, backward and the areas hither to left out of the purview of development policy would get focused attention.

Omar Abdullah said that reaching out to public all across the State to address their grievances on development front is the standard and determination of his government. “We do not want any area remaining out of the development process kick started by the government since last two and the half years”, he added.

Speaking to a delegation of over 200 prominent citizens, political activists and social workers of Magam area here, the Chief Minister said that wherever government feels that focused attention is required to remove the genuine public grievance it shows prompt response.

Omar Abdullah said that any decision based on justice never proves wrong adding that false promises for political considerations never stand the test of the time. He said good decisions based on equity reflect the good governance and meet the aspirations of the people.

The delegation also invited the Chief Minister to visit the area and lay the foundation of new college complex which the CM accepted and thanked the people for their good will and support to his government.

“It is immaterial whether you express your gratitude or not. It is our duty to provide you good governance, remove your difficulties and accommodate the justified and genuine demands to the degree possible”, he said and added that the people have given mandate to his government to seek holistic development in the State and ‘we are marching ahead in this direction with commitment and determination’.
