Working President bowled out for 35 runs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 05: Working President XI today proved to be the weak side in the ongoing five-team President Cup league competition after the side bowled out cheaply for 35 runs by Chairman XI at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. This resulted into a huge victory for Chairman XI, who played to their full strength to make 293 runs in 58.3 overs losing all their wickets thereby making an end to the two-day tie on day one. The duo of Ram Dayal and Dilawar Singh caused the early dismissal of Working President XI sharing all 10 wickets between them. While Ram Dayal clinched four wickets, Dilawar was at his best with six for 12 in ten overs, including five maidens. From Working President XI, Chetan Chib was only batsman who scored in double figure with 10 runs in his account. The whole side bowled out for 35 runs in 20.5 overs. Later, Chairman XI played fearlessly setting the scoreboard moving. Rohit Bhat and Shahbaz made 73 and 77 runs respectively while Deepak Manhas and Manish Dogra contributed 35 and 30 runs in their respective accounts. From Working President XI, Manik Gupta was most successful bowler with three wickets, followed by Nitin Mehra, Rahil Singh and Anoop Magotra, who shared two wickets each. Today’s match was officiated by Salim-Ur-Rehman and Sadiq Hussain Malik as umpires while Raghav Verma was scorer. Meanwhile, according to the organizers, the last league tie of the President Cup shall be played between Treasurer XI and Working President XI on July eight.
