Minister lauded for affecting transfers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, July 5: Horticulture Planning & Marketing Department Employees Welfare Forum has congratulated Sham Lal Sharma the Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture for effecting general transfers of Area Marketing Officers, yesterday, adhering strictly to Government’s Transfer Policy. The Minister has been successful in breaking monopoly of few influential officers, who during their entire service career, never served outside the state and always managed to get lucrative postings. The Minister has been successful in removing illegal encroachments in the Terminal Fruit & Vegetable complex at Narwal Jammu and also illegal practices going on, unchecked since long, in Sopore Mandi. Lauding a number of far reaching steps initiated by the Horticulture Minister in strengthening/ creating a post-harvesting infrastructure in J&K, the forum has requested for initiating high level enquiry into the allotment of department’s property at Azadpur Mandi in New Delhi in violation of rules, during last one decade. Bilal Ahmed, the President of the forum, expressed hope that serious long pending issues which have affected, badly, the working of the department viz., unwarranted delay in issuance of notification for the new service rules, finalization of gazatted-service seniority list, opening of sufficient number of offices in marketing zones and deputation of secretaries & other requisite staff to all the terminal/ satellite markets, shall also be sorted out very soon.
